Top Locations For Overseas Property For Sale

People considering snapping up some overseas property for sale have been provided with a list of some of the top locations for a second home. The Daily Telegraph's Christopher Middleton said for those with an eye on Italy, Puglia offers generally lower prices than those in Tuscany and Umbria, with unconverted farmhouses available for around £310,000. Meanwhile, a number of British investors have been looking at property to let in Leipzig, Germany, where a block of 12 to 15 flats can be had for less than £350,000. For those after a bit of rustic sunshine, Portugal has a new scheme that allows buyers to purchase not only a house, but also part of a vineyard. "With European boundaries blurring, and growing numbers of countries relaxing rules on foreign ownership, the world is increasingly one’s oyster when it comes to choosing where to live," said Mr Middleton. A recent survey by Skandia found that more than half of the UK's wealthiest people have considered overseas property for sale, with Spain among the most popular destinations.
