100% LTV French mortgages available

Overseas nationals can now borrow up to 100% loan-to-value (LTV) of the purchase price of a property in France, according to French Mortgage Direct (FMD).
The capital repayment mortgage is available on all types of homes in France, including off-plan units, anywhere in the country.
Mortgages for the whole price of the property – 100% LTV loans – were previously only available in certain designated regions of France.
However, the product has now been expanded nationwide due to the stability of the France property market, which is "underpinned by responsible lending".
“The mortgage is available to almost any national wishing to buy almost any property in France,” said FMD’s director Sharon Hill, as cited on OPP. “This is so important at the moment as a great deal of British buyers, in particular, with a 90% LTV product have had their 10% deposit wiped out by the weak UK pound and have had to postpone their purchase. The effect this had on the market was evident at the France Show exhibition in January.”
