50 Cent slashes price of US home

21 July 2009 Rap star 50 Cent – real name Curtis Jackson - has sliced a further $3.6m (£2.2m) off the price of his mansion in Connecticut after struggling to sell under difficult USA property market conditions. Jackson paid $5m (£3.1m) for the 19 bedroom, 37 bathroom home located in Farmington in 2003 from retired boxing champ Mike Tyson. After spending million of pounds renovating the house he put it up for sale at an asking price of $18.5m (£11.3m) in 2007, and lowered the asking price to $14.5m (£8.9m) at the end of 2008. Having failed to attract a buyer, Jackson withdrew the property from the market in May. However, his US homes is now available again at the cheaper price of $10.9m (£6.7m), in an attempt to attract fresh buyers.
