Brits lead the way in France

Brits are the leading foreigner owners of properties in France, accounting for 28.5% of the total, according to fresh figures released from the French Ministry of Tourism.
The report also revealed that around 300,000 foreigners own French properties, up 50% in 11 years, 93% of which come from Europe. The Italians (14%) came second, followed by the Swiss (12%), Germans (11%), Belgians (10%), Dutch (8%), Spanish (3%) and Americans (3%).
The volume of foreigners who have purchased rural properties have risen by 45% since 2001, accounting for 37% of foreign second homes, while 39% of this division bought coastal properties.
