Cape Verde’s marina community to rival Europe’s best

Cape Verde, which was a near-unknown archipelago a few years ago, continues to emerge as a tourist hotspot and popular holiday home destination. It now looks as though an emerging marina resort will further boost tourism levels.
Brian Langmaid of Investments Worldwide claims that the marina community of Porto Murdeira, located in between Sal’s International Airport and the Island’s cultural capital of Santa Maria, is set to rival some of the most established marina districts in southern Europe. The 200-berth marina is capable of accommodating the largest of motoryachts, up to 100 metres, as well as the water taxis, which deliver passengers from island to island.
Langmaid says: “Porto Murdeira is comparable to the likes of Puerto Banús or Mallorca’s Puerto Portals. It has the Islands’ only licensed casino, only legalised marina and top chains are already expressing an interest in managing the resort’s hotels. With capital appreciation hovering at 20–25% per annum this is literally a paradise for property investors.”
Investments Worldwide is currently selling a selection of apartments in nearby Rosa del Mar, with property prices currently start from €94,000. The development also offers easy access to Porto Murdeira’s own 18-hole golf course. Completion is scheduled for December 2010.
