China property values post further gains

The average price of a residential property in China’s 70 largest appreciated by 2.8% in September compared to the corresponding month last year, the National Bureau of Statistics announced today.

It was the fourth consecutive annual rise recorded following seven months of price falls, providing further evidence of a sustained improvement in China’s property sector.

On a month-on-month basis, the median price of a home in China increased by 0.7% in September, following on from a 0.9% gain posted in August, the statistics bureau said.
