Could Alaska emerge as a property hotspot?

The relatively underdeveloped property market in Alaska, USA, could soon receive a wave of fresh property investment and new residential developments, following the state’s recent high-profile exposure, thanks to Sarah Palin.
Palin, who comes from Alaska, is currently running a political campaign, alongside Presidential hopeful John McCain, to become vice-president of the USA at the forthcoming elections on November 4.
“The exposure has opened people's eyes to the potential of the area,” said Darryl Browman, president of California-based Browman Development.
Oil rich Alaska, which became a US state in 1959, is generally expected to vote for McCain.
“That's because Republican policies are seen to traditionally favour the resource development that is a crucial driver of the area's job growth,” said John MacKinnon, executive director of the Associated General Contractors of Alaska.
