Dubai appoints PR to improve its image

3 April 2009 The UAE emirate of Dubai has appointed London public relations group Finsbury to handle its financial communications strategy in an effort to head off negative press coverage of its troubled economy. Dubai’s department of finance said that: “Finsbury will have a global mandate, with a focus on the City of London.” The government of Dubai is heavily in debt, partly because the Dubai property market has wilted as prices tumble and developers scrap or suspend residential developments across the city.
