Dubai property halt

10 March 2009 Over half of all property projects – residential and commercial – in Dubai scheduled for completion in 2012 have either been suspended or scrapped, according to a fresh report from Jones Lang LaSalle. The property firm cites a lack of financial support, job cuts and a declining population as the cause for the delays and cancellations. The Dubai property market is currently undergoing a sharp slowdown, with property prices across much of the emirate plummeting, following years of rapid price growth. Jones Lang LaSalle expects the residential property market to suffer further in the next financial quarter.
