French Property For Sale Attracts International Buyers

Property for sale in France attracted scores of international buyers in 2010, research has revealed. Overall, property investment in the country increased by 21 per cent in 2010, according to BNP Paribas. The finance company has revealed that 51,200 properties were sold to international buyers last year, compared to 43,300 in 2009. It seems house hunters looking for overseas property for sale are increasingly attracted to French offerings – from popular skiing resorts to the luxurious Cote d'Azur, the country caters to all tastes. Cannes, Nice and Antibes offer the indulgence and style of the French Riviera, while the Languedoc Roussillon region can prove more budget-friendly while retaining Mediterranean charm. Property specialists Cle France claim British property buyers are attracted to the French lifestyle. Sharon Evans, director of the firm, explained: "Everything is at quite a frantic pace in England and people work long hours. When you go to France, as soon as you get off that ferry you just breathe a sigh of relief. The French take time for dinner, time for their friends, time to chat to somebody at the boulangerie, she added. A more laid-back lifestyle is bound to attract Brits looking for rest and relaxation – a holiday home in the south of France could be the perfect summer getaway.
