Troiaresort
Located around an hour from Lisbon airport, access to Troia requires quite a long journey along the motorway down to the town of Setubal, from where you take the ferry almost to the resort entrance.

Situated on its own natural island, the location is excellent. The views across to Setubal or out to the Atlantic are beautiful and the white-sand beaches stunning. A total of 211 beach apartments are being constructed here, with prices between £178,000 and £580,000.

The marina apartments at Troia range from one- to three-bedroom homes and vary from 72 to 115 square metres. Prices are from £224,000 and £390,000.

Every one of the 78 marina apartments boasts views over the marina, and despite feeling a little small, the one-bedroom home we saw had obviously been designed very carefully to maximise available space and finished to a very high standard. The open-plan kitchen/diner and lounge area is very light – benefiting from the vast windows that look out to the marina. There is also access to a small balcony. The bathroom and bedroom are both cleverly concealed behind a large sliding wooden door. On the downside, there are only a limited number of berths available and only on a rental basis, and on-site boat repair facilities are in question.
