Luxury New Zealand property up for sale
Country: New Zealand
5 October 2009 A high-end resort in the Bay of Islands, widely considered to be the most valuable property of its sort, not just in New Zealand, but in the whole of Australasia, has been put up for sale at a secret asking price. The estate agent, Brown Sotheby, which has been appointed to sell the property, says that they will only reveal the asking price of the Eagles Nest, located in Russell peninsula, to prospective buyers who sign confidentiality agreements. There have reportedly already been inquiries from potential buyers in the US, UK, Singapore and Switzerland, since the property went on the market a week ago. But the Far North District Council offers an indication of the property’s value, which features 15 bedrooms and 20 bathrooms, in its rating roll that the property, with 15 bedrooms and 20 bathrooms, has a capital value of $2.35m (£1.1m) and a land value of $1.15m (£550,000). The beachfront estate, which has five private villas, all with outdoor spa, wireless internet access, original artworks, home theatre system and fully-equipped gourmet kitchens, was featured on popular US reality television show The Bachelor. The development has also been named among the world's top 100 hotels by Conde Nast Traveller and Tatler.
