Luxury US market remains steady

Luxury home prices in the USA have stabilised over the past few weeks, although they are taking longer to sell, according to a fresh index.
The Luxury Market Report compiled for the Institute for Luxury Homes Marketing by Altos research reveals that the average luxury home is now staying on the market for 145 days, compared to around 110 days at the start of 2008.
The luxury market report collected data in several different categories in the most expensive zip codes of 31 metro markets to create benchmarks, making it easier to spot shifts in the market. The average price for a luxury home in the study stood at $1.15m (£770,000).
The index concluded that the US luxury property market remains a “buyers market.”
