Malaga and Andalucia 'offer great facilities for expats'

Choosing the ideal spot to search for overseas property in Spain is all down to the individual, but there are plenty of options available for all tastes, one expert has claimed. Anna Nicholas, a Mallorca-based journalist and author, highlighted that from the mountainous Catalonia, to the verdant Cantabria, Spain offers a wide selection of character-filled locations. "Malaga and Andalucia are often regarded as quite British zones, offering many facilities for the expat - [as are] Alicante and Costa Brava," she explained. For good value for money, she recommended Murcia in the south-east, which brings with it the hot and dry climate that often draws Brits to purchase overseas property in Spain. "Mallorca is always a good option for Britons - offering sunny beaches, mountains and small inland villages all in a relatively small area," she added. Interest in Spanish property also continues to rise, with the Overseas Guides Company reporting a 60 per cent increase in people seeking advice on the buying process. The country now holds the second largest share of all enquiries, Fly2Let reported.
