South of France stays strong

Demand for property in the ever-popular South of France continues to outweigh supply, according to property finders, Unique Living. In Cannes, St Tropez and Cap Ferrat the property market is based on established homes and the company says that the indications show that these area will come out better from the current slowdown. The French National Estate Agents Federation reports that average property prices are rising by just 1.7%, down from annual growth of 7.1% in 2006.
Serge Cowan, MD, Unique Living says: "There are some exceptional bargains in this current market place and those savvy enough or financially able to purchase, are getting some phenomenal homes."
