Spa property developments growing in popularity

Tantamount with luxury and relaxation, a growing number of Brits are buying their own slice of rest and relaxion by investing in spa property developments around the world, according to Cluttons Resorts.

Around 40% of new luxury and upper-upscale lodging projects under development include spa facilities, compared with 27% of existing hotels in that segment that offer spas, according to PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Robert Green of Cluttons Resorts told homesoverseas.co.uk: “The spa industry is one of extreme interest these days and something that seems to be overlooked in terms of their importance in attracting holidaymakers and homebuyers to top end resorts around the world.

“For many years golf has been used as the number one attraction and reason to invest in a resort but research shows that due to the accessibility of spas golf has moved into second position.”

Cluttons Resorts are currently marketing properties for sale within the following spa resorts:

Soneva Kiri (a Six Senses Hotel & Spas development on the island of Koh Kood in Thailand which also has residences for sale;

Banyan Tree – they have various hotels and spas around the world but those with residences for sale include Bangkok and Phuket in Thailand, the Seychelles, Lijiang in China and Bintan in Indonesia.

Villas Valriche in Mauritius – this is a more affordable and highly successful resort which includes an 18 hole golf course. There is a Six Senses spa that is already operating in the adjacent Le Telfair Hotel but as the developers understand the importance and attraction of a spa they are also going to provide one themselves.
