Spain property pips Portugal property to top spot

13 August 2009 Property in Spain has replaced property in Portugal, which is now second, as the most searched for destination to buy a home abroad based on country page views, and property views, on homesoverseas.co.uk, over the past month. Although demand for Portuguese property listed on HomesOverseas.co.uk has increased, the number of people viewing Spanish property on the site has increased dramatically, reflecting greater reader numbers. Google Analytics shows that the volume of unique visitors on www.homesoverseas.co.uk has leapt by a staggering 31% on a month-on-month basis. Elsewhere, Greece property has risen from fourth to third, Italy property has fallen a position to fourth, French property is up a place to fifth, Turkey property is down a place to sixth, USA property has gone up from eighth to seventh, Cyprus property is up a place to eighth, Thailand property is down from seventh to ninth, while Egypt property retains tenth spot. Here are the top 10 most searched for destinations in which to buy a home overseas at the moment, last month’s position in brackets: - Spain (2nd)
