The Canaries overseas property venture takes off

Norwich City football club, nicknamed the Canaries, has ventured into the overseas property sector by joining forces with three existing estate agents selling properties overseas.
The newly formed Canaries International Properties (CIP) has linked up with Norwich-based worldwide2homes, Villas Abroad and Cornerstoneworldwide.
Will Hoy, Norwich City's brand marketing manager, commented: “This is a new deal which broadens the club's affinity partnerships, offering fans great deals on investment homes abroad or buying a second home outside of the UK. As with our other affinity partnerships, supporters can get a great deal through recognised experts, while at the same time helping to raise much-needed extra cash for the club. Supporters interested should attend one of the seminars to get a flavour of what is on offer.”
CIP’s flagship project, The Village, a gated community being built near Estepona in southern Spain, was presented last night at the club’s first property presentation, held at its Carrow Road Gunn Club, along with a host of other residential projects, in Bulgaria, Italy, Cyprus, Portugal and Turkey.
CIP has also partnered Norwich and Peterborough Building Society, who offer overseas mortgages in Spain only, at 75% loan-to-value over 20-years.
Chris Hall, a founding member of CIP and former president of the National Association of Estate Agents, added: "The key to the offering is accountability - we are local and we are not a here today gone tomorrow show that hires a room and leaves buyers in the wilderness. All our offerings will be special in one way or another and will have had due diligence carried out on them and most importantly we are on hand to give help and advice and ensure buyers obtain the appropriate legal advice.
