Valencia to change rental law

Homeowners who let out their properties in the Valencia region of Spain to tourists on a short-term basis will soon have to register with the local department of tourism, according to draft regulations presented by the Valencian Region’s Minister of Tourism, Angelica Such.
The new law aims to enable better control of holiday lettings by the department of tourism, and improve the quality of service. It will also make it easier for the authorities to clamp down on people who illegally avoid paying stamp rental income.
Such says it is “fundamental to establish strict regulations to provide our tourists with holiday accommodation that is as regulated as possible."
