Community Description
Playas del Coco is easy to access. From Liberia, take the paved route Sardinal-Playas del Coco, a distance of 35 kms.

Playa del Coco has quite an infrastructure: Many Hotels, Casino, Discos and Restaurants and places to shop. This is the most accessible and frequently visited beach in Guanacaste Province.

The scenery consists of the horseshoe-shaped Coco Bay and steep hills and cliffs. It is a good place to have fun but not to rest. The main attractions are the tourist facilities and hotels and the sun, which shines longer and more brightly here than anywhere else in Costa Rica.

In this regard it is worth mentioning, that 16th of April and 28th of August are days when there is the greatest concentration of solar energy per area-unit. It is therefore unwise to sunbath near high noon.
